It wasn’t that long ago that if you wanted a mattress, there weren’t that many different choices. There were waterbeds, of course, and the regular metal spring mattress that people have been using for years. The real change in the market appeared, though, with the advent of memory foam mattresses. Soon, metal beds from California to Maine were draped in the finery offered by memory foam. However, not all memory foam is created equally. Some brands are a bit friendlier to mother nature than you think.

A Greener Choice
Brands like Keetsa, Magniflex and Natura are leading the way in the creation of earth friendly memory foam mattresses. These products use certified organic materials such as cotton in place of chemical laden products to provide a mattress that is not only durable but also biodegradable so that once you are finished with your mattress, the earth can have the materials back in a reasonable amount of time. Many of these products also use new technologies to help cool the skin, provide excellent back support and more, all with an eye towards Mother Nature.

A Step Forward
What does the future hold for the world of organic mattresses? No one knows for sure but with more and more farmers around the globe dedicated to creating all natural, organic materials and a growing demand from the general public for earth friendly items, the sky is truly the limit. Don’t be surprised if in a few years, it is more difficult to find mattresses that aren’t organic and earth friendly than it is to find ones that aren’t.
