A New Spin on Old Favorites

Sometimes, treating yourself to a new suite of contemporary bedroom furniture or a new dining room set can be just the remedy for a boring, uninspired décor.  Other times, it is possible to create a whole new look without spending a dime.  You can do this by changing the way you look at your furnishings – and changing the places where you are so used to seeing them.  Putting something old somewhere different may seem simple, and it really is.  But it is also very effective.  You can yourself a new perspective, and that may be all you need to revive and refresh your home.

So how do you do this?  One very easy way is to decorate your bathroom with non-bathroom furniture.  A simple straight-backed kitchen chair, for instance, may not what we expect to see in the bathroom, and that is exactly why it can work so well.  Fold and pile towels on top of the seat or put a full, lush plant there. Another example is using a bookcase in your dining room or kitchen.  Not only is this functional, but it adds a different flavor to the room when you do something a bit unexpected.
