Decorating for Outdoor Parties

The fun of summer is that you are not restricted by walls; an outdoor party is a great way to celebrate an event or just celebrate the season.  It is also great because nature does most of the work for you.  With lush greenery and fresh flowers, you are well on your way to a beautiful décor; add a few finishing touches and you have set the stage for a great gathering. Start by rounding out your décor with paper lanterns.  These are ethereal and delicate, but they provide a boost of bright color and elegance.  You can use them with lights or just string them up along your deck, porch, or even between trees.

Next, turn to your table.  Whether you have a set of wood or metal bar stools with a patio table or a picnic table, you can create a great centerpiece that is welcoming and beautiful. If you have a little time, buy a bunch of bandanas and sew them together to make a great tablecloth or table runner.  This has a very rustic, country feel and it’s fresh and fun.  Instead of serving platters, use the trays that come with terra cotta plant pots.  Place a napkin on it and then the food.  There are thousands of ideas; be creative!
