Making a humorous jab at the life of the average couple parenting a newborn, Christina Applegate was featured in US Magazine Online recently.  The longtime actress is starring in a new role in NBC’s new sitcom, Up All Night.  The promo released in the pop culture magazine will certainly have many men listening up – at least for the first few seconds, as Applegate discusses her bedroom fantasy.  Of course, this monologue ends with an amusing, “…and I sleep, while you take care of the baby for ten uninterrupted hours… Please!”, but this does raise an interesting point.

Many experts in the country are pointing to a new phenomenon happening within marriages across the country.  While the economy continues to suffer and millions are left without a job, people are seeking the love and comfort that only a spouse can offer.  This also means that many are looking for good ways to “spice it up” between the nightstands.  With vacations being a luxury many can’t afford and even the regular night out being put up for financial debate, it is no surprise that these husband and wife duos are looking to create a pleasant escape in their own home.

If you are interested in recreating your bedroom to produce a romantic interlude, start thinking about the few first steps to take.  First of all, this is the time to get rid of clutter.  Find a new place for bookshelves, out-of-use items, and bulky blanket storage.  If you are hoping for a sanctuary, you aren’t going to find it in heaps of junk.  A new paint color or wallpaper can also help to induce romantic feelings.  Many homeowners have found that the most sexually enticing wall colors are also the most unexpected.  Accent walls done in stark, dark shades such as shimmery black or a lush, rich brown can help to set the tone you are looking for.  They also provide excellent backdrops for a colorful, welcoming bedspread and sheet combo.  Small efforts such as these can make the room far more inviting for you and your spouse and can provide the perfect fantasy escape after a difficult day.
