Rental Decorating

When you rent your home, it can be frustrating because you are not allowed to make the changes you may want; you may have to live with those white walls or industrial grey carpeting.  But that doesn’t mean you have to like it.  Take a stand!  You can decorate your rented home beautifully – and still get your security deposit back when you leave.  Start by thinking of some great, non-permanent ways to change your space and make it more like home.

One of the best ways to do this is to say goodbye to that ugly carpeting.  No, don’t remove it.  Why not cover it up with great area rugs?  This adds more texture and color to a room, while increasing the sense of warmth and personalization.  You can put area rugs right on top of inlaid carpeting.  You may not be able to paint the walls, but you can adorn them with your own art and photos.  Create a wall of fame with your favorite photos or create some fun abstract art in your favorite colors to add a splash of vibrancy to dull walls.  Your windows are another area that present you with great opportunities.  Try great shades and modern comforter sets or treatments in fun fabrics.  Dress up your apartment; you’ll love your rental home even more.
