Wasted Space is a Wasted Opportunity
There is no denying the fact that moving day is one of the most stressful days on the calendar, and since most folks are so anxious to just put things in place and unpack, we often leave furniture like kids bedroom sets in areas that waste space. Before you declare your next move done, be sure you aren’t committing a common space-wasting sin.
First, get rid of kitty-cornering. Metal bar stools may look cool placed at an angle, but you are wasting a huge amount of space by doing so and you are making your kitchen or dining room smaller by default. The only time something like this is acceptable is if you literally have more space than you know what to do with, and who do you know that fits into that category?
Second, get rid of furniture you don’t use on a regular basis. Many of us keep extra chairs around for that rare occasion when we have groups of people over. During the other 360 days of the year, these space eaters collect dust. Toss them and open up overly crowded rooms. You’ll love the result.
